ILL HEALTH ANYONE?

ILL HEALTH ANYONE?

Many people think chiropractic is about bones, especially spinal bones.

But the FACT is we’re much more interested in nerves.

In particular, the nerve messages that travel between the brain & the body and from the body back to the brain.

Any type of disruption can DISTORT or disturb the integrity of the controlling and regulating messages from the brain.

The result can be ill health.

Because the nervous system controls every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body, chiropractic care can help a wide variety of health problems.

Maybe you know someone who has been told that it’s “all in their head” or that they’ll have to “learn to live with it.”

Worse, someone who thinks they have a MUSCLE RELAXER… shortage!

Send them OUR way. We’ll be more than happy to check out their nervous system and find out if it’s functioning correctly. Call Lisa now!

When Was Your Last Adjustment?

When Was Your Last Adjustment?

“That’s what I ask a patient that comes in after months without care?” What have you been up to and why haven’t you been here to get your spine aligned?  Here in east county I can help.

I know this may come as a shock, but your nervous system, the system I adjust you for, ‘controls’ every cell, tissue and organ in your entire body.

That means if you have a misaligned vertebrae at multiple levels, you have some real health issues, even if you have NO SYMPTOMS.

I find, here in El Cajon, that pain is always the last thing to come, and the FIRST thing to go.

The real problem is most people don’t understand

or maybe they just forgot.

Make sure you get your spine checked on a regular basis. If not, you’re walking around with a compromised nervous system.

And a nervous system that is compromised means big health trouble in the near future. Don’t let that happen to you or any of your loved ones. Schedule an appointment for a check up today.

What is Spinal Decay?

What Is Spinal Decay

Like tooth decay, spinal decay can occur without obvious symptoms and at any age.

I know you want to avoid tooth decay – so you brush after meals, floss, and make regular dental appointments to make sure your teeth and gums stay healthy.

So what is spinal decay? Do you know that some signs of spinal decay can be just as silent as those related to tooth decay and that, by the time you notice something – the condition may be fairly well advanced?

The main “job” of the spine is to protect the spinal cord and all the nerves that travel from the brain, through your spinal cord, to communicate with and control every function of your body.

When the spine is misaligned in any way, this puts pressure on your nervous system, which can affect your health. As a result, the spine may actually start to decay.  Dr. Richter can help you here in east county.

Many think this is just the effect of growing older. But just as tooth decay doesn’t result from aging, neither does spinal decay – it results from neglect and poor spinal hygiene.

Spinal decay usually starts with some type of trauma – a car accident, a fall, even the birth process itself can initiate it! The thing you want to remember is this. It doesn’t have to HURT.

In its first phase, spinal decay results in a loss of proper spinal curves or a reduced ability to turn and bend. If left untreated, your body responds by depositing calcium onto the affected joint surfaces, ligaments and connective tissues, in an effort to “splint” the affected spinal joint. At this point, you may still have NO noticeable symptoms; this allows the decay to continue.

By the third phase, spinal decay has permanently damaged the spine, causing neurological changes that result in chronic health problems – usually just the kind we see in an aging population.   And here in El Cajon we care.

Regular chiropractic checkups, just like regular dental exams, are designed to locate areas of the spine that are not functioning properly before they become major areas of concern. At our office, we check your spine to determine where it may be compromised in some way. Then, through a series of corrective adjustments, we provide the intervention you need to help you avoid the crippling effects of spinal decay.

If you have NOT been checked, make an appointment today. If you’re getting checked, then make sure that you bring your friends and family members to this office to be checked. You don’t want them to have spinal decay.

Work Without STRESS?

Work Without Stress?

Stress is tough on all of us here in the greater San Diego area – despite such great weather.   When you learn to reduce your work stress, your overall stress decreases as well!

We spend most of our waking hours doing this thing we call “work” so that we can provide for our families.

Unfortunately, for far too many people, work produces a great deal of stress, which carries over to their home life, social life and all the other activities of everyday living.

We end up dreading getting out of bed in the morning. Then we dread our commute, our work environment, our interactions with bosses and co-workers, the very job we do, and then our commute back home.

No wonder so many people are tired, depressed and stressed out!

There are certain ways to de-stress your work environment. For example, you can:

Make a “To-Do” list at the end of every day, for the next day – Then you will be ready when you get to work the next day, and you’ll know exactly what you have to do. Prioritize the list so you know what to do first.

Make sure you have all the details of any assignment and the ability to get it done – You can’t do a job when you lack the skills, resources, knowledge or tools to get it done. Clarify and confirm with your supervisor what you are expected to do.

If you are in a management position, learn how to delegate – One of the biggest problems managers face is the inability to delegate. Many feel there is no one who can do the job as well as they can and it would take too long to teach them anyway. It may take an hour to explain to a subordinate how to perform a particular task, but once they learn it, they own it! Result: Less stress!

Take a break – Take a walk, run an errand, eat something, visit the water cooler, or talk to a co-worker. No one can work 24/7 without a break. Taking breaks actually increases productivity and relaxes you.

Leave your job where it belongs, at the office – If you need to catch up some work at home, spend time with the family, eat dinner, play with the kids, help with homework and bedtime routines first. Pick up your work after you’ve made your family the priority they deserve.

Everyone’s work is becoming increasingly stressful, especially as technology continues to advance. If you want to stay healthy, you find ways to de-stress. Remember the importance of exercise, proper nutrition, sufficient sleep and routine chiropractic care to keep your body and mind well tuned and functioning at peak capacity!

Why call anyone?

“Why would you ask someone to check your house, if it wasn’t burning down?”

Why Call Anyone?

You wouldn’t ask the fire department in east county to run over and ‘blow out’ a candle you had burning on your kitchen table, would you? You wouldn’t call an electrician and pay him $75 to change a light bulb that just burned out in your bathroom would you?

Those are very simple tasks that you probably do right now, so why do patients, (young and old alike) call on medical specialists to ‘heal’ and ‘fix’ their health problems – after years of neglect and abuse?

It’s probably because they don’t understand how the body works. My belief is that OVERKILL is the ‘norm’ in today’s medical world. They over TEST, over DIAGNOSE, and many times, over TREAT you with lots and lots of drugs, all for the sake of doing a thorough job. I’ve always said, “If you’re taking drugs, and they make you healthy, why aren’t you healthy then?”

It reality – it all boils down to FEAR.

The greatest asset you have is realizing the power you have INSIDE your body. Your body is SUPER SMART and it’s really the only thing that actually heals you. Cut yourself, and don’t do anything. You’ll still heal.

Here’s what most people miss. Your body heals itself better… when there is no interference.  If your nervous system is clear, you have the best chance of getting well faster and sooner.  Your body is capable of blowing out the ‘flame’ (the inflammation and sickness) all by itself.  All you have to do is make sure there is no nerve interference. Make sure you’re getting checked regularly at this office. You could have some non-symptomatic disc lesions.

Are Your Organs Diseased?

Medical Study PROVES:

“Nerve Pressure LEADS To DISEASED ORGANS!!!”

This is something that everyone here in the greater San Diego area will want to read.

If you have any children, grandchildren, or even just friends, you need to read this.   This is a factual study that explains in simple terms – why your spinal care at this office in El Cajon is so important.

At the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine, Dr. Henry Windsor, an M.D. on autopsy of over 150 people demonstrated that diseased organs were the result of spinal nerve pressure in over 95% of diseased organs located. This included the heart, lungs, kidneys, intestines, etc. Dr. Windsor proved by tracing the nerves from the diseased organs he located on autopsy back to the spine and found that spinal stress areas (spinal bones out of place pinching nerves) were present 95% of the time.

What this means is this. If you have any nerve pressure in your spine, anywhere, whatever organ those nerves innervate or connect to – will become diseased if left unchecked. Get checked today here at Richter Chiropractic in El Cajon.

Nerve pressure is slight in most cases, but that slight pressure reduces the efficiency of that impinged/pinched nerve by 60%, and that is with just the weight of a quarter. If you’re not getting your spine checked regularly, and working at restoring motion in your spine, having your adjustments regularly, you’re asking for major trouble.

Are you Tired of Suffering?

Tired of Suffering?

Symptoms of hormone imbalance in women may begin as early as the late twenties to the forties.  And it happens here in east county San Diego.

Symptoms of hormone imbalance in women tend to increase as a woman ages, especially if ignored in the earlier years. Their general health becomes effected.

Hormone imbalance symptoms can be any one or more of the following:

-Allergy symptoms
-
Depression, FAITGUE, and anxiety
-Endometriosis
-
Fibrocystic breasts
-Hair loss and facial hair growth
-
Headaches, dizziness and foggy thinking
-Low sex drive
-
Osteoporosis
-PMS
-
Urinary tract infections and incontinence
-Uterine fibroids
-
WEIGHT GAIN, water retention and bloating
-Wrinkly skin

Symptoms of hormone imbalance are caused primarily by the incorrect relationship between progesterone and estrogen levels in the body.

These two female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, exist in a delicate balance.

Variations in that balance can have a dramatic effect on your health, resulting in symptoms of hormone imbalance. The amounts of these hormones that the woman’s body produces from month to month can vary, depending on factors such as stress, nutrition, exercise and most importantly – ovulation or the lack of ovulation.

In the industrialized countries, women take birth control pills, are exposed to household chemicals at home, car exhaust and other environmental xenoestrogens.

In addition, women often have stressful lives, eat processed foods or skip meals, take synthetic estrogen HRT (hormone replacement therapy) and have hysterectomies.

All these factors can add more estrogen to the female body, resulting in excess estrogen which will cause hormone imbalance symptoms.

If you want to help balance your estrogen levels, and help STOP the symptoms of hormone imbalance, make sure you’re using the special Progesterone crème from West Coast which is only available from this office.

We have these in stock here at Richter Chiropractic so call or come by to pick some up today.

Your Nervous System

The Spinal Column

What is it really?  Chiropractors are often called “back doctors.” Actually, they have NOTHING to do with the back itself!  They work on the spinal column — one of the most important and complex components of the human nervous system.

The Nervous System

The human body is a remarkable thing. At any given moment, it performs hundreds of thousands of individual functions — circulating and purifying blood, turning fuel (food) into energy, maintaining proper internal temperature, taking in oxygen, and all the other operations which keep us alive and healthy.  But Dr. Richter has noticed that we take it for granted.

Guided by the knowledge our bodies are born with — our Innate Intelligence — every cell and organ sends and receives messages to and from the brain.

In fact, the brain acts like a central communication depot, processing millions of messages every second. These messages, relayed as electrical impulses, are sent out over nerves the way phone calls travel along telephone wires.

A thick braid formed by BILLIONS of these nerves is attached to the brain and extends down from the base of the skull.

This is the spinal cord.

Smaller braids branch off from the cord. These braids divide again and again into tiny nerve fibers and fill the entire body, going to each cell, organ and tissue.

Every human being has an estimated 15 billion nerve cells. All send and receive messages as nerve impulses through the spinal cord. What we do here at this clinic is make sure those 15 billion nerve cells are working at their optimum. Your body does the healing. We just remove the interferences. That’s all. Your body does the rest.

Call Mary today at Richter Chiropractic and send in a friend or family member who is sick and suffering. Chiropractic works!

Keep Your Nails Healthy

“Keep Your Nails Healthy!”

While nails do not seem very important, especially to men, their appearance does say a thing or two about you.  And we here at Richter Chiropractic do as we say.

Healthy looking nails means that you are healthy and well kept nails means that you care about your own personal cleanliness and hygiene. You do not need to go to a day spa and pay for an expensive manicure in order to have beautiful nails. You can make your nails beautiful and lustrous right at home in El Cajon – or wherever you live in East County or greater San Diego – if you are willing to follow a few simple routines aimed at keeping them healthy and strong.

On average a nail grow around 1 millimeter per week, its building material being a protein known as keratin. While cutting them is the most common method of checking his growth, this is a good way to cause them to split. Instead, try ‘filing them down to a short to medium length using a standard nail file’. You should file your nails from one corner to the center in one direction and avoid moving from side to side which can weaken your nails. Use a good cuticle cream, and push them back gently and then massage the nail base to encourage blood flow.

Water: bad for nails
Water can be considered your nails worst enemy and soaking them in water for a long time is an absolute no-no. If you do need to do something that requires your nails being submerged in water for an extended period, it is smart to don some rubber gloved or shoes to protect the nails on your fingers and toes.

Healthy diet = healthy nails
A diet rich in protein is important if you want to keep your nails strong and hard. If you are a vegetarian, be sure to get your protein from a good source like nuts. Sulfur intake is also important when it comes to healthy nails. Garlic, leafy greens and fruits will also give your overall nail health a bit of a boost.   And regular chiropractic care helps you maintain a healthy body.

Your nail is not a tool to be used and abused
While many people seem to think that nails were given to us so we can remove stickers from the wall and stubborn bits of food from a plate, or to loosen screws, the truth is that nails are not meant to be used as tools. Chipping or breaking your nails makes it easier for you to get infections like warts and nail fungus.

Keep an emery board around
If you do happen to chip or crack a nail, having an emery board around to file and smooth away the damage will help prevent further problems.

Do not be a nail biter
Nail biting is not only a unpleasant habit to watch someone do, it is also unsanitary. Nail biting can lead to ugly, uneven nails that are too short and susceptible to fungal disease.

Keep them short
Keeping your nails trimmed to just a few centimeters past the base of your fingers will make them easier for you to clean and maintain. If you happen to prefer longer nails, clean them regularly and use oils and lotions to strengthen them whenever possible.

Wear rubber gloves
This rule not only applies to when you are doing the dishes, but also every time you handle chemicals or cleaning products that might be harmful to your nails and hands.
